Georgia wraps up its 2002 home schedule this weekend, hosting Kentucky Friday night at 7 p.m. and Vanderbilt Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. Sunday will be Senior Day, honoring the team's senior players before their final home game in a Georgia uniform.
Georgia's history versus UK/Vanderbilt
Georgia is 4-4 all-time versus the Wildcats, winning 1-0 last season at no. 24 Kentucky. Georgia is 3-5 versus Vanderbilt. The Bulldogs fell 2-1 in Nashville last season, one of only two losses for Georgia in SEC regular season play last year.
About Kentucky
Kentucky is 7-4 overall, 2-1 in the SEC on the season. Last weekend in Lexington, the Wildcats fell 1-0 to South Carolina on Friday. Kentucky defeated Florida 3-0 Sunday for UK;s first-ever win over the Gators and UF's worst loss ever in SEC play.
About Vanderbilt
Vanderbilt is 3-6 overall, 1-2 in SEC play on the season. Last weekend in Nashville, Vanderbilt fell 2-0 to Florida Friday and defeated South Carolina 2-0 Sunday.
Georgia looks to avoid a few program-firsts
Georgia looks to avoid its first-ever 0-3 start in SEC play after dropping games to Alabama and Auburn in the Bulldogs' first weekend of the 2002 conference schedule. Georgia has also never lost three SEC games in a row, losing back-to-back conference games four times in program history.
Prior to this season, the Bulldogs had never lost to both Alabama and Auburn in the same season.
The Bulldogs also look to avoid breaking their streak of seven straight winning seasons, posting winning seasons every year of the programs existence. With the exception of any postseason games, Georgia must win six of its last seven regular season games to assure a winning season.
