Athens, Ga.-----Coaches and athletes from the University of Georgia women's athletic teams will host Team Up! for Habitat on Sunday, Nov. 10, from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Ramsey Center. The event will aid the Athens Women Build, a division of the Athens Area Habitat for Humanity.
Beginning at 12:30 p.m. parents and children will have an opportunity to meet their favorite athlete or coach for autographs and pictures. Fans can also bid on UGA sports collectibles and other items featured in a silent auction. At 2:30 p.m. Suzanne Yoculan and the Gym Dogs and Andy Landers and the Lady Dog basketball team will perform in the volleyball arena. At 4 p.m. Jack Bauerle and the swimming and diving team will hold a demonstration in the natatorium.
"The team and I are very excited about being able to help out," said Bauerle. "It will be a very interesting day, to say the least, with some celebrity races scheduled. No photographers please; I am still recovering from Suzanne's roast [where he was in a full swim suit]. I have been asked to race against a celebrity, so I will need an unrevealing suit. We will see what the future holds. "It will definitely be a fun day. We will have a lot of people involved, both swimmers and divers. It is great getting the kids involved in the community," Bauerle said.
