Georgia Prepares for SEC Championships
Georgia next travels to Gainesville, Fla., to compete in the Southeastern Conference Championships on Monday, Nov. 4.

The Bulldogs at the 2001 SEC meet
The Georgia men placed sixth at the 2001 SEC Championships, scoring 168 points. Georgia's top runner at the meet was then-freshman Mike Swope who earned All-SEC honors with a tenth-place finish. Swope is questionable to compete in this year's meet as he has struggled with injury and only competed in one early season meet. The Bulldogs next runner was Adam Tribble with a 31st-place finish. Tribble has been hampered by injury this season as well, but will likely compete at the SEC meet.

The Lady Bulldogs at the 2001 SEC meet
The Georgia women also placed sixth at the 2001 SEC Championships, scoring 176 points. Georgia's top runner at the meet was then-senior Jackie Seibert who earned All-SEC honors with a seventh-place finish. Georgia's top returning runner from last seasons SEC meet is senior Whitney Nelson who placed 39th at last years conference championships.

Georgia likely to be led by newcomers
Both the Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs will likely be led at the conference meet by newcomers as they have been all year long. Freshman Lauren Burks has led the women and junior transfer Philip Bett has led the men in every meet in which Georgia competed full squads. Burks has posted two individual wins and two other top-ten finishes. Bett has posted three top-ten finishes.
