Bulldogs Drop Two Over the Weekend
Georgia is 4-4 in SEC play after dropping a 3-0 decision to Arkansas and a 3-2 match to LSU over the weekend.
The Bulldogs tallied a season-high 87 kills in the tough loss to LSU, but could not overcome the Tigers' 17 blocks and 11 service aces. Julia Petruschke and Luresa Forsythe each had over 20 kills against LSU for the second time this year.
LSU won game three of the five-game match with 39 points, the highest scoring game for the Bulldogs since Kentucky defeated the Bulldogs 3-1 last season including a 39-37 game one.
Georgia is now 3-4 in five-game matches this season and 8-5 in head coach Mary Buczek's tenure.
Tough Road Ahead
Georgia travels to South Carolina and Kentucky this weekend for two key SEC matchups. Both South Carolina and Kentucky were ranked above Georgia in the Oct. 9 NCAA South Region rankings.
The Bulldogs last defeated Kentucky on Oct. 27, 2000 in Athens and the last time Georgia knocked off South Carolina was Nov. 17, 2000. Georgia is 7-5 in games away from Athens this season.
