Georgia Travels to Magnolia State
The Bulldogs travel to Mississippi this weekend, facing Ole Miss Friday night in Oxford and Mississippi State Sunday afternoon in Starkville.
Georgia's history versus UM/MSU
Georgia is 4-2 all-time versus Mississippi, last playing the Rebels in 2000. The Bulldogs fell 3-2 in the regular season match-up in Athens, but won 2-0 in the first round of the SEC Tournament, also in Athens. Georgia is 4-0 versus Mississippi State. The Bulldogs of Athens last played the Bulldogs of Starkville in 2000 as well. Georgia won 3-0 in Athens. It was Georgia's third shut out of MSU, also winning 3-0 in Athens in 1995 and 3-0 in Starkville in 1999.
About Ole Miss
Ole Miss is 11-2-2 overall, 3-2-1 in the SEC on the season. The Rebels defeated Kentucky 1-0 last Friday in Lexington and tied Vanderbilt 0-0 in double overtime in Nashville.
About Mississippi State
MSU is 5-10-1 overall, 2-3-1 in the SEC this season. The Bulldogs defeated Vanderbilt 2-1 Friday night in Nashville and fell 1-0 Sunday at Kentucky.
Bulldogs Split Two Games Over the Weekend
Georgia split two conference matches last weekend on the road, defeating South Carolina 2-1 in double overtime Friday night and falling 1-0 in overtime at Florida Sunday. Sunday's loss to Florida leaves Georgia winless all-time versus the Gators with an 0-10-1 record. It was Georgia's sixth and seventh overtime matches of the season, the most in program history. Friday night's game was also a program record fourth double overtime for the Bulldogs this season.
