ATHENS-----Fifth-ranked Georgia opened dual match play with a 7-0 win over Emmanuel College Wednesday at the Lindsey Hopkins Indoor Center. The Lady Bulldogs (1-0) won all three doubles matches for the first team point and then swept the six singles matches over the Lady Lions (2-5), an NAIA school located approximately 45 minutes from Athens.

Georgia picked up the doubles point after the duos of Agata Cioroch/Lori Grey, Mariel Verban/Anne Nguyen and Alexandra Smith/Jeanette Mattsson posted 8-0 wins. In singles, Georgia cruised to straight set victories in all six matches.

"We're in the early part of our indoor season and wanted to play a few matches before the National Team Indoors next month," said Georgia coach Jeff Wallace. "We've got BYU and Middle Tennessee State coming up and that will give us three matches to help us get ready."
