Bulldogs Come Back to Defeat Boston College, 3-2

STORRS, Conn. - The University of Georgia soccer team came back from a 2-0 deficit early in the first half to defeat Boston College 3-2 in the first game of the UConn/Diadora Classic Friday in Storrs, Conn.

BC (0-2-0) got on the board quickly as midfielder Sarah Rahko scored in the fourth minute to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead. Boston College increased their lead shortly thereafter in the eighth minute on a goal by forward Meghan Moore giving the Eagles a 2-0 lead over the Bulldogs (2-0-1) that would hold throughout the first half.

In the second half, Georgia began its comeback in the 53rd minute as junior midfielder Beth Culver scored off a deflection, finally putting the Bulldogs on the scoreboard. Georgia would tie the game as freshman midfielder Elizabeth Metherell scored her first collegiate goal in the 60th minute assisted by classmate Tricia McKee.
