The Bulldogs will take to the road for a pair of meets in Michigan this week. Georgia will battle first-time opponent Michigan State on Nov. 2 in East Lansing. The Spartans are coming off a 163.5-79.5 loss to Eastern Michigan in their season opener Oct. 26.
The following day the Bulldogs will travel to Ann Arbor for a dual meet against Michigan, who finished 10th at last year's NCAA Championships. Georgia holds a 2-1 advantage in the series history after a 131-112 Wolverine victory in Athens last year. Michigan is 2-0 on the year with victories against Florida and Eastern Michigan.
Lady Bulldogs split pair of meets in California
After losing to Pac-10 power Stanford Oct. 24, the women's swimming and diving team rebounded in dramatic fashion, as the Lady Bulldogs won the final three events of the night to edge California 152.5-150.5 at the Spieker Aquatics Complex Oct. 25.
Freshman Katie Yevak won the 400y IM in a time of 4:15.28, and Georgia claimed the first and second places in the 400y free relay for the two-point victory over the Bears. Brooke Bassham, Julie Hardt, Stefanie Williams and Maritza Williams also picked up event victories against California.
300 and counting
With the victory at California, head coach Jack Bauerle has now recorded 300 dual-meet victories (men and women combined). Only a handful of coaches have posted 300 wins.
What's on Tap
After a three-week break, the men's and women's swimming and diving teams will host the annual Georgia Invitational Nov. 30-Dec. 1.
