Georgia hosts second-annual Bulldog Scramble Nov. 2-4
Tournament Schedule
The men's tennis team will host the second-annual Bulldog Scramble Nov. 2-4 at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens. Georgia welcomes Miami, Mississippi State, Florida and Baylor to the three-day event. The format will be the same as last year, where all five teams will play in a round robin format and individual results are recorded, but no team scoring.
All five teams finished the 2001 season ranked in the top 35, including three in the top 15. Both Georgia and Mississippi State have more than one singles player ranked in the top 35 of the ITA preseason national rankings.
Wagner reaches final of Omni Hotels Regional Championships
Georgia's Brandon Wagner topped third-seeded Romain Ambert of Mississippi State in three sets to advance to the final of the Omni Hotels Regional Championship at the Varsity Courts at the University of Tennessee. Wagner will face No. 2 seed Mario Toledo of Tennessee in the final at 9 a.m. Monday, Oct. 28. This is the second consecutive year a representative of Georgia has been in the final. Bulldogs Lesley Joseph and Matias Boeker were co-champions of the regional tournament last fall.
