GAINESVILLE, Fla. ----- For the second time in three days the No. 9 Florida Gators proved to be too much for the University of Georgia volleyball team as the Gators defeated the Bulldogs 3-0 (30-12, 30-21, 30-15) in front of 1,245 fans at the O'Connell Center in Gainesville, Fla. The match had many similarities to Friday night's contest in Athens, which was won by the Gators 3-0. Once again the Gators were led by sophomore Aury Cruz, who like Friday night, was the only player on either side of the net to tally double figures in kills with 10 on .194 hitting. Also helping the Gators' cause was sophomore Jacque Robinson, who had seven kills on .583 hitting. The Gators (14-1, 9-0 SEC), dominated the match from start to finish as they held Georgia to a negative hitting percentage (-.040) while they hit .392. Florida also held overwhelming advantages in the defensive categories as it out dug (44-31) and out blocked (10-3) Georgia. The Bulldogs (9-8, 3-6 SEC) were led by sophomore outside hitter Jessica Boller, who was one of only two Bulldogs to register a positive hitting percentage as she tallied six kills on .462 hitting. The other Bulldog to record a positive hitting percentage was freshman Jennie Metz, who had a career-best five kills on .077 hitting. Senior Kristine Keese led Georgia's defensive effort with eight digs, one block solo and one block assist. Georgia returns to action on Friday night when it travels to Baton Rouge, La., to take on the LSU Tigers at 7:30 p.m. ET. The match will be televised live by FOX Sports Net South.
