Georgia Eliminated at Riviera All-American Championships

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif.---- The last two of the Lady Bulldogs in the main draw of the Riviera All-American Championships were eliminated Friday.

Agata Cioroch and Mariel Verban both competed in the Round of 16. Cioroch, ranked 58th, lost the first match of her career to seventh-ranked Jessica Lenhoff of Florida 6-1, 7-5. Cioroch's career record is now 33-1. Eighth-ranked Verban defeated No. 47 Chloe Carlotti of Fresno State 6-2, 6-3. Verban advanced to the quarterfinals where she lost to Kelly McCain of Duke 6-2, 6-2. Both Verban and Cioroch are eliminated from competition.

In the consolation draw, Anne Nguyen received a bye in the first round. She was scheduled to face Jennifer McGaffigan of Illinois in the quarterfinals of the consolation draw in a late match on Friday.
