Stefanie Williams Moreno, a 28-time All-American and six-time national champion for Georgia as an athlete and coach, recently completed\u00A0her fourth season as the head coach of the women’s swimming and diving team.\u00A0Williams Moreno previously served for\u00A0four\u00A0seasons as Associate Head Coach after serving six years as a Bulldog assistant, working\u00A0primarily with the backstroke and middle distance groups.

In her first year at the helm, Williams Moreno led Georgia to a 16th-place finish at the NCAA Championships and a sixth-place finish at the SEC Championships. At NCAAs, the Bulldogs earned 21 All-America citations, including seven First Team citations. Sophomore Rachel Stege reached the championship final in the 500 and 1,650 freestyle, while teammate Dune Coetzee joined her in the 500. Earlier at SECs, Stege won the conference title in the 500, while senior Zoie Hartman prevailed in the 200 IM. Overall, the team earned 10 SEC medals and set 30 personal-best times in College Station.
\r\n\r\nIn her second season, Williams Moreno guided the Bulldogs up three spots to a 13th-place at the NCAA Championships in Athens, following a fifth-place finish at SEC Championships. Junior Abby McCulloh capped off a career year by winning the NCAA championship in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a personal-best and pool-record time of 15:37.74, becoming the first Bulldog national champion since 2016. McCulloh became the 48th different athlete to win a championship, increasing the program total to 154. During the season, she also won the SEC championship in the mile and earned First Team All-America honors in the 500y freestyle, along with setting two pool records in the 1,000y freestyle. She also excelled in the classroom with SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year, National Academic All-District, and UGA Presidential Scholars honors.
\r\n\r\nStege and Coetzee picked up First Team honors in the 500y freestyle, with Stege also earning a silver medal at SECs. Coetzee joined sophomore Shea Furse, senior Sloane Reinstein, and Hartman to finish sixth in the 800y freestyle relay, helping Hartman finish her career with a program-record 31 All-America citations. Junior Eboni McCarty posted the three fastest times of her career in the 100y backstroke at NCAAs, finishing 10th overall. Senior Julianna Stephens, junior Bri Roberson, sophomore Emma Norton, and freshman Helena Jones also earned All-America awards on relays at NCAAs.

Dobson also earned three silver medals and a bronze medal at the SEC Championships, breaking a 12-year-old school record in the 500 freestyle. Fellow freshman Clarke Neace (1,650 freestyle) and senior Ieva Maluka (200 butterfly) also earned Second Team honors at NCAAs.

\r\nAssistant Coach / Associate Head Coach (2012-22)
\r\n
\r\nIn her final season as an associate head coach\u00A0(2021-22),\u00A0freshman Matthew Sates and Magahey finished 1-2 in the 500 freestyle at NCAAs, while sophomore Luca Urlando set an American Record in the 100 backstroke. Additionally, under Williams Moreno’s watch, freshmen Coetzee, McCarty, and McCulloh all earned All-America citations.
\r\n
\r\nIn the 2020-21 season, Williams Moreno’s middle distance swimmers formed one of the Bulldogs’ strongest groups, led by an third-consecutive SEC championship from All-American Courtney Harnish (500 freestyle) and an NCAA championship from Jake Magahey (500 freestyle). In the backstroke, senior Javier Acevedo won his second SEC individual title (100 backstroke), while four Bulldog men qualified for NCAAs in backstroke events.
After joining the Georgia staff in 2012, Williams Moreno helped the Bulldogs continue their run as one of the nation’s top programs, winning three consecutive SEC women’s titles from 2013-15 and NCAA championships in 2013, 2014, and 2016. Georgia sent 11 swimmers to the 2016 Rio Olympics, highlighted by gold medals from Gunnar Bentz, Melanie Margalis, Allison Schmitt, and Olivia Smoliga.
\r\n\r\nBefore returning to Athens, Williams Moreno spent four years with the Ohio State women’s team, including serving in 2011-12 as associate head coach. She was an assistant coach for the Missouri men and women for three years after beginning her coaching career at Bloomsburg University in the 2004-05 season.

\r\nPrior to Coaching
Williams Moreno helped the Lady Bulldogs win three NCAA and three SEC titles during her career from 1998-2002. She earned the maximum 28 All-America certificates (24 First-Team and four Honorable Mention). Williams Moreno was a member of four national championship relays, helping the 200 and 400 freestyle relays set American records in 2002.\u00A0
\r\n\r\nWilliams Moreno was a two-time SEC champion in the 200 freestyle and was on 10 victorious relays at the SECs. She left Georgia with the school mark in the 200 freestyle.\u00A0 A team captain her senior year,\u00A0Williams Moreno twice was named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll and graduated with a degree in Sports Communications.

\r\nIn 2017, she was inducted into the UGA Circle of\u00A0Honor, which recognizes extraordinary student-athletes and coaches who bring honor the university and\u00A0themselves by their performance and conduct.

She married Brandon Moreno in May 2017. The couple resides in Athens with their bulldog, Winnie, and goldendoodle, Birdie.

\r\nRodriguez joined Georgia after eight seasons at his undergraduate alma mater, Kenyon College, where he served as the senior assistant swimming coach, first working with the middle-distance group for six years followed by two with the sprint group. While at Kenyon, the São Paulo, Brazil native helped guide the Lords and Ladies to two NCAA Division III championships (2022 – women, 2015 – men) and five runner-up finishes, while also earning five North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) championships. Beyond the team accolades, his tenure produced 16 NCAA individual champions, 10 title-winning relays, and 20 NCAA records, as well as four CSCAA Swimmer of the Year honorees, including a sweep of this season’s awards by Bryan Fitzgerald and Crile Hart.
Jerry Champer\u00A0returned to the Georgia women's swimming and diving staff in July 2023 after serving one\u00A0season as the Director of Operations for the men's and women's swimming and diving teams. Champer previously served\u00A0on the Georgia coaching staff for 21 seasons, including nine as Associate Head Coach. Before becoming a full-time coach in 2003, he was a volunteer assistant for two seasons.
\r\n\r\nVirtually every top performance in the butterfly on Georgia’s all-time list has been established during Champer’s tenure, including Luca Urlando, Camden Murphy, and Chelsea Britt in the 100 and Urlanod, Gunnar Bentz, and Hali Flickinger in the 200. DeScenza (six from 2003-06), Gil Stovall (2008) and Mark Dylla (2011) were NCAA champions under Champer’s tutelage. He also has had 25\u00A0SEC champions, including eight by DeScenza and four by Dylla, during his watch.
\r\n\r\nChamper served as the head coach at Western Illinois from 1994-2001. He was named to the WIU Athletic Hall of Fame in 2012 as the school’s winningest coach. Champer was named the Mid-Continent Conference Men’s Coach of the Year four times and the Women’s Coach of the Year twice as he led the Leathernecks to five conference titles.
\r\n\r\nChamper earned Southern States Conference Men’s Coach of the Year honors in 1999 and 2000 after leading his team to conference titles. His 2001 men won the Midwest Championships title and he was chosen as the Midwest Championships’ Coach of the Year. He was named the 1998 and 2001 Illinois Men’s University Division Coach of the Year.\u00A0
\r\n\r\nUnder Champer’s direction, Western Illinois produced 44 conference champions and 46 all-conference distinctions. One of his former pupils represented the country of Georgia in the 2000 Olympics.
\r\n\r\nChamper is a 1989 graduate of Wisconsin-LaCrosse, where he was a four-year letterwinner, team captain (1987-88), and an All-American in 1987. Following graduation, he served as an assistant coach for the Eagles for two seasons before departing for Western Illinois.
\r\n\r\nChamper is married to the former Lu Harris, Georgia’s softball coach from 2001-21. The Champers have three daughters: twins Emma and Jenna, and Mya.

\r\n\r\nIn the 2024-25 season, the Georgia diving team continued its upward trajectory, qualifying two men’s divers for the NCAA Championships for the first time since 2006. Sophomore Matthew Bray finished 26th on 3-meter at NCAAs, following a third-place finish on the springboard at NCAA Zones. Junior Renato Calderaro placed 32nd on 1-meter at NCAAs and sixth on 3-meter at Zones, while also receiving SEC Men’s Newcomer Diver of the Year honors. The pair also reached the 3-meter championship final at SECs, becoming the first duo to do since 2006. Senior Rhett Hopkins reached the 1-meter finals at Zones, while also scoring on both springboards at SECs and setting a new personal-best score on platform. Freshman Bo Bridges also qualified for Zones on both springboards, while senior Allen Mann placed third on platform at the midseason UGA Diving Invitational. For the women’s diving team, junior Hannah Stumpf scored on 1-meter and platform at SECs, with sophomore Michelle Cummo and freshman Nyla Thompson both qualifying for Zones.

\r\nIn 2023-24, the Georgia diving team turned in its strongest season in a decade, highlighted by senior Meghan Wenzel earning Second Team All-America honors on 1-meter and\u00A0Mann qualifying for the NCAA Championships. Wenzel finished fourth on 1-meter at SECs, the best finish for a Georgia diver since 2019, as she joined sophomore Hannah Stumpf to score 102 points, the program’s most since 2014. Along with Mann’s NCAA berth, junior Nolan Lewis reached the SEC 3-meter championship final and placed sixth overall. Fellow junior\u00A0Hopkins and freshman Bray reached the 1-meter consolation final, helping the men score 80 points. During the season, all four male divers posted season-best scores in each of their events, while all seven divers competed at the NCAA Zone B Championships in Athens. Wenzel concluded her career at the U.S. Olympic Trials, finishing 13th in the platform semifinals and nearly reaching the final.
In the 2022-23 season, Wenzel qualified for her second-consecutive NCAA Championships, finishing 38th on 1-meter and 47th on platform. At the SEC Championships, Wenzel finished sixth in both events.\u00A0Stumpf\u00A0reached finals on both springboards at Zone B Championships and scored on 1-meter at SECs. On the men’s side, Lewis finished ninth on platform at SECs, while teammates Kevin Li, Hopkins, and Mann all qualified for Zones.
\r\n\r\nIn 2021-22, Wenzel reached the NCAA Championships and finished 22nd on 1-meter, following finals appearances on 1-meter and platform at the SEC Championships. Senior Ellie Crump posted career-best finishes on 1-meter at SECs and the Zone B Championships, while Lewis reached two finals at Zones.
\r\n\r\nDuring Colwill’s second campaign, junior Zach Allen\u00A0became the first male diver in three years to qualify for the NCAA Championships as he finished third on the 1-meter at the Zone B Championships and earned an All-America citation. Allen was joined at Zones by McKensi Austin, Ellie Crump, Josh Getty, Kelliann Howell, Freida Lim, and Raquel Mason with Austin and Lim reaching the Zone final in the platform event. At the SEC Championships, Austin reached two finals, placing fifth on the platform and seventh on the 3-meter.\u00A0
\r\n\r\nIn his first season as head coach, Colwill guided four divers (Austin, Getty, Howell, Lim) to Zones, with Lim and Austin advancing to the NCAA Championships. Lim placed 15th in the platform event at the University of Texas, earning a Honorable Mention All-America citation. \u00A0
\r\n\r\nIn 2018, Colwill was inducted into the UGA Circle of Honor, a distinction reserved for extraordinary student-athletes and coaches who bring honor to the university and\u00A0themselves by their performance and conduct.
\r\n\r\nDuring Colwill’s Bulldog tenure, the Brandon, Florida native won three NCAA individual diving titles and totaled the maximum of 12 All-American honors. He took the 1- and 3- meter springboard crowns in 2006 and added another 1-meter title in 2008, becoming the first male student-athlete in Georgia history to win three individual NCAA championships.\u00A0
\r\n\r\nColwill also headlined SEC diving during his career,\u00A0accumulating five individual conference titles: 1-meter in 2005 and 2006, 3-meter in 2005 and 2006 and platform in 2006. His pair of titles in 2005 marked the first double-championship winner for Georgia since 1967. He garnered SEC Diver of the Year status in 2005, 2006, and 2008, and he was the SEC Freshman of the Year in 2004.\u00A0
\r\n\r\nColwill’s prestige on the diving board extended to the Olympic arena. He represented the United States at the 2008 Beijing Games and in the 2012 Games in London. In addition to taking first on the 3-meter at the 2012 Olympic Trials, Colwill placed fourth in synchronized 3-meter in 2008 with partner Jevon Tarantino.
\r\n\r\nOn the world stage, he accumulated 10 national\u00A0championships, a collection that began as a 10-year old in 1994 at U.S. Junior Nationals. He also earned the gold medal at the 2007 Italian Grand Prix, the silver at the 2009 FINA World Series, and the bronze in three different 2007 FINA Grand Prix meets on 3-meter.
\r\n\r\nColwill graduated from Georgia in 2008 with a degree in Speech Communication. He and his wife, Brittany, welcomed a daughter, Aubrey, in September 2021, and a son, Bentley, in September 2024.

\r\nIn the 2024-25 season, Sullivan joined Colwill in guiding\u00A0the Georgia diving team, qualifying two men’s divers for the NCAA Championships for the first time since 2006. Sophomore Matthew Bray finished 26th on 3-meter at NCAAs, following a third-place finish on the springboard at NCAA Zones. Junior Renato Calderaro placed 32nd on 1-meter at NCAAs and sixth on 3-meter at Zones, while also receiving SEC Men’s Newcomer Diver of the Year honors. The pair also reached the 3-meter championship final at SECs, becoming the first duo to do since 2006. Senior Rhett Hopkins reached the 1-meter finals at Zones, while also scoring on both springboards at SECs and setting a new personal-best score on platform. Freshman Bo Bridges also qualified for Zones on both springboards, while senior Allen Mann placed third on platform at the midseason UGA Diving Invitational.

\r\nFor the women’s diving team, junior Hannah Stumpf scored on 1-meter and platform at SECs, with sophomore Michelle Cummo and freshman Nyla Thompson both qualifying for Zones.
In her final season at Auburn, Sullivan reached her first NCAA Championships, finishing 37th on platform and 47th on 1-meter. Earlier at the SEC Championships, she earned the bronze medal on platform, finished sixth on 3-meter, and won the 1-meter consolation final.\u00A0
\r\n\r\nDuring her career, Sullivan qualified for the NCAA Zone B Championships in all five seasons as a Tiger. She also reached three SEC championship finals, including the two in her graduate season.\u00A0
\r\n\r\nSullivan, a native of Lucas, Texas, graduated from Auburn in 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science. She was named to SEC Academic Honor Roll each year on the Plains.

\r\n\r\nShedden joined UGA in September 2014 after previously serving as a customer service representative for multiple organizations. She also served as a recreational therapist for Blount Memorial Hospital in Maryville, Tennessee.\u00A0
\r\n\r\nShedden graduated from Tennessee in 2004 with a degree in Human Ecology, studying Recreation and Leisure Studies with a concentration in Therapeutic Recreation. During her time at UT, she served as both the captain and advisor for the Men's Swimming and Diving Timettes Hosting Program, assisting the team in recruiting, timing, and event planning.\u00A0
\r\n\r\nHer husband, Dr. Austin Shedden, works for the UGA Health Center as a Clinical Psychologist.

Since her arrival Koch worked with teams which won eight NCAA Championships, sixteen SEC regular season titles and five SEC tournament titles. Prior to her arrival in Athens, Koch competed and worked at Indiana University, where she was an NCAA Champion in two sports and was a member of the strength and conditioning staff for more than a decade. In 1992, Koch won the shot put at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships and also was an NCAA Weightlifting Champion. All told, she was a nine-time All-American and a five-time Big Ten Champion in the shot put and discus.
\r\n\r\nKoch then served as a strength and conditioning graduate assistant (1993-94), as assistant strength and conditioning coach (1994-98) and as head strength and conditioning coordinator for Olympic sports (1998-2004). Koch worked with teams which won three NCAA Championships and 21 Big Ten titles. Koch also served as a CHAMPS Life Skills instructor from 2000-02.
\r\n\r\nKoch received two degrees from Indiana, a bachelor's in Fine Arts (studio art) and Art History in 1993 and a master's in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sports Psychology in 1997.
\r\n\r\nKoch is a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association and the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association, as well she holds certifications by the USA WeightliftingFederation and National Academy of Sports Medicine. Koch, a native of Neuffen, Germany, is a single mom to two sons: Alexander and Christopher.
